Frequently Asked Questions
Endless fun for children
For a copy of our Hire Agreement please email us at click here however below are some FAQ’s that may be useful. Our goal is for your kids to have safe supervised FUN!
Why a Rolleston Bouncy Castle?
The original owners were parents and knew how hard it was to come up with original ideas as special treats for kids’ parties. Our bouncy castles are a cost effective and fun way to keep your kids entertained for a few hours.
What sort of events do you cater for?
Mainly small parties and smaller community events/galas and church and school fairs.
Do you have Hires on School Holidays and during the week?
We are very flexible so please book, email or call us to discuss your requirements.
Do you deliver, set up and pack up the castles?
Yes we do pick up and deliver same day. A delivery fee is applicable in some areas.
It is the Hirers responsibility to ensure the Castle is clean prior to pick up including cleaning the inside castle with a damp cloth if needed.
We do not leave castles overnight without a bond being paid.
What do we need to set up a bouncy castle?
Preferably flat grassy area within 30 meters of a power source for our extension cord. Clear space of approx 1-2m around and above the castle (Check Castles page for sizes) grass surfaces with good drainage is the most ideal area. The castle must not be used in wet or windy weather. Castles can be used indoors on carpet if there is enough space.
Concrete surfaces are not recommended unless you provide some extra carpet or matting for safety around the slide. We will provide a small landing mat but for extra safety we recommend having some other form of matting for concrete hires. Please inform us if the bouncy castle will be erected on a surface that does not allow for pegs to be used (i.e. concrete, paving, asphalt).
Please advise us if there are stairs or potential access issues. Our castles are quite heavy and occasionally may require us to use our trolley.
Set up usually takes about 10-15 minutes. Taking down is about the same time.
Can we move the bouncy castle during the hire period?
No, please do not attempt to move the bouncy castle once set up due to safety requirements.
Are the set up and dismantling times included in the hire time?
No, we will set up the castle before the requested hire time starts and it will be taken down after the requested hire time concludes. We do request that there is clear access and there is room to manoeuvre the bouncy castle to the set up area.
What ages can use your castles?
Generally 2 – 8 years olds. We recommend extreme care when various ages are using the castle as bigger kids tend to be more boisterous than the small younger ones. Ideally users being the same age helps from a safety aspect.
We do not recommend bouncy castles to under 3’s however if fully supervised a group of 2-3 year olds (ie similar age) will have a great time.
Adults are not permitted on any of our castles.
What are your payments terms?
Cash or EFT POS on the day or direct credits are also acceptable prior to the booking.
What happens if there is bad weather?
In the event of bad weather bookings may be cancelled/postponed up to one hour before the event on the day. Any deposit is then carried over to another date or refunded. We also reserve the right to cancel due to wind, rain and adverse set up area – in this instance deposits are then transferred to another date. We usually call in the morning for a weather check.
If bad weather affects your booking after set up the full rental still applies. However in this instance we will provide a discount off your next booking.
What if I cancel for any reason other than weather?
Cancellations that are not weather related must be made no less than 5 days before the event.
What do we do when we are finished with the Castles?
We will arrange a suitable pick up time depending on your specified hire period. We ask that you ensure that the castle is clean and tidy and the blower is turned off to allow the castle to deflate prior to us packing up. Wiping down with a damp cloth may be necessary.
What happens with supervision?
Safety is our utmost concern. An adult over 18 years MUST supervise the Castle at all times. Children must not run around near the fan blower or power source. Special care is needed when bigger kids and little kids are on the castle at the same time.
What happens if we damage the bouncy castle?
If the damage is considered to be malicious then you will be liable for the full cost of repairs, transport costs associated with the repairs and the loss of business costs while the castle is repaired. We keep a record of the condition of our castles and would advise you to check the bouncy castle before the delivery person leaves, and note any problems.
How can I be sure you will turn up for the event?
You will be sent a booking confirmation and hire agreement when the booking is made. We will also ring/text you the week leading up to the event to confirm. In the event of bad weather, you will be contacted on the day of the event.
Is there anything else I need to know?
We will provide strict instructions for the safe and efficient use of our equipment. When using the bouncy castles we DO NOT ALLOW pets, food, water, toys (other than soft toys or bouncy balls), sharp objects, non-water based face paint, string, rope, poppers, streamers, shoes or anything else that stains or tears to be on the unit. We insist that children MUST have adult supervision at all times when using our equipment. If the above-mentioned items are in contact with the bouncy castle and it has been damaged it will be considered malicious and you will be liable for the full cost of repairs, transport costs associated with the repairs and the loss of business costs while the castle is repaired.
Where can you provide bouncy castles and services to?
We cover most areas with the Canterbury district.
